The Oak Harbor varsity football season kicks off tonight when they host Holland Springfield at 7:30 p.m. The Oak Harbor Athletic Booster Club reminds fans that the group provides a golf cart shuttle from the pool-side parking lot to the bleacher area for anyone who has trouble walking to their seats. Please take advantage of this great service.

In the second home game of the season, the Oak Harbor varsity girls soccer team tied Riverdale 1-1 on Thursday, Aug. 26. So far the girls are 0-1-1 on the young season and looking to make their mark in SBC play when they travel to Margaretta on Monday Aug. 30.

All sports passes and football passes are available and can now be purchased in the high school office. Passes will be sold from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Women’s Golf Association of the Catawba Island Club held its member/guest event “Putt’n On The Ritz,” on Thursday, Aug. 19. Ninety eight players made up the field on a glorious summer day. The black and white and “glitz” theme was carried out in eveyone’s attire and decorations. The team of Evelyn Albrect, Brigitte Seuffert, Linda Velliquette and Linda Fenhrich took first place. Carolyn Mackey, Jeanne Gottron, Joyce Davis and Evie Dean took second.
