William Paul Dackermann, 66, of Port Clinton, died Saturday, Feb. 4, at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton.   Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton, where visitation will be held Thursday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.

CookLydia T. Cook, 76, of Port Clinton, died Saturday, January 21, at Stein Hospice, Sandusky. She was born Feb. 17, 1935 in Russell County, VA the daughter of the late Clarence and Daisy (Self) Gilbert.  She married Oscar Cook on Sept. 14, 1951 and he preceded her in death on August 23, 2005.

Lawrence “Jack” Schiller, 103, longtime resident and businessman of Oak Harbor, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton. Jack was born Sept. 3, 1908, in Rocky Ridge, the son of Herman and Christina (Iffland) Schiller. In 1944, he married Hilda “Judy” Randall, his devoted wife of 64 years. She preceded him in death Oct. 23, 2008.

Engagement - Schubach and Schell

The bride-to-be is the daughter of James Schubach of Green Springs, and Terry Hendrix of Escondido, Calif. She is a 2010 graduate of Tiffin University with a bachelor’s degree in business management. Lauren is the operations manager for the Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Port Clinton.

The groom-to-be is son of the late Vickie Schell and the grandson of Robert and Amelia Schell of Fremont. He is the store manager of Radio Shack in Fostoria, Ohio. This union also includes Dan’s son, Benjamin L. Schell (pictured).

The couple met through mutual friends in March 2008. They currently maintain residence in Bettsville, Ohio. The wedding is planned for October 2012 at Camp Perry Lodging and Conference Center.
