Catherine “Katie” Geraldine (Herzog) Jacoby

Catherine “Katie” Geraldine (Herzog) Jacoby, 90, of Port Clinton died Wednesday, Aug. 19, under Stein Hospice care at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor.  Born on April 27, 1924, in Sandusky, Catherine was the daughter of George and Lucille V. (Bechtel) Herzog. On Nov. 8, 1958, she married Henry A. “Hank” Jacoby of Sandusky. He served as Port Clinton Police Department chief for 20 years before retiring in 1985.


Yvonne M. Hall June 29, 1952-Aug. 17, 2014

Yvonne M. Hall, 62, of Oak Harbor, died peacefully on Sunday, August 17, at Stein Hospice with family by her side.  She was born June 29, 1952, in Port Clinton, to Alvena (Kardotzke) and Ralph T. Huston, Sr.

Visitation will be at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home& Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, from 2-8 p.m., Thursday, August 21, with the family present 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Friday, August 22, at Oak Harbor United Methodist Church, 360 E. Ottawa St., Oak Harbor, with burial to follow in Rusha Cemetery, Oak Harbor. The family has requested memorials for Yvonne to go to Stein Hospice, 1200 N. Robert Demas Barnes June 28, 1925-Aug. 16, 2014

Robert Demas Barnes, resident of Lakeside and formerly of Columbus, passed away on August 16 at Otterbein Nursing Home. Robert was born on June 28, 1925 to Mildred and Carl Barnes.


Robert was a Navy Veteran of World War II and was an Aviation Ordnance Turret Mechanic who was stationed in Pensicola, FL, before being deployed to the Pacific. He was an avid fisherman and boater and a loyal Ohio State University football fan.

Robert is survived by his children Susan (Dale) Henry of West Jefferson; Thomas (Robin) Barnes of Lakeside; and Betsy (Tom) Moore of Lancaster; his brother Richard (Nancy) Barnes of Huron; his grandchildren Andy (Lori) Brown of Colorado Springs, CO; Jason (Chrissy) Brown of Waynesville; Katie (Scott) Maietta of Westerville, Megan (Kaleb) Weaver of Carmel, IN; Jeff (Heather) Brown of West Jefferson; Maggie Gilbert of Port Clinton; and his great grandchildren Alexandra, Sydney, and Reese Brown, Emma, Becca and Abby Brown, and Brynley Maietta.

Robert is proceeded in death by his wife of 55 years, Margaret, his parents, Mildred and Carl, and his brother, Carl Jr.


Donations in Robert’s memory can be given to Stein Hospice.

Martha Rose Zeitzheim Apr. 26, 1941-Aug. 14, 2014

Martha Rose “Marti” Zeitzheim, 73, of Oak Harbor, died Thursday, August 14, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky. She was born April 26, 1941 in Fremont, to the late Judge Robert and Elinor (Glenn) Gabel. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School, Fremont attended Rosary College in Chicago, IL, and studied business at Tiffin University College of Business. On August 1, 1963 she married Judge David A. Zeitzheim who preceded her in death December 31, 2011. She sold Real Estate for Batdorff Realty in Oak Harbor.

Marti held memberships in many organizations throughout Oak Harbor and Port Clinton. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton. She was also a longtime member and past president of the Oak Harbor Literary & Social Club, St. Boniface Catholic School Parenting Group, past church council member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, 10 year member and past president of the Magruder Hospital Auxiliary Board, present member of the Port Clinton Arts Council, and Port Clinton Yacht Club.

Leona W. Henderson, 79, of Port Clinton, passed away, Monday, August 11, at her residence.  Leona was born on August 13, 1934 in Gurdon, AK, the daughter of Edward and Winona (Perry) Woodbury.

Ava Isabella Arnold Feb. 4, 2013-Aug. 7, 2014

Ava Isabella Arnold lost her battle with Alper's Huttenlocher syndrome on August 7. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving parents Douglas (Lee) and Jessica Arnold, her little sister, Lydia, and puppy, Oden. 

Ava is survived by her maternal grandparents Carmen and Mike Richard and Dan Fritz, all of Port Clinton, and paternal grandparents Chris and Victor Arnold of Hilliard, OH. Maternal great grandparents Lynn Jones and Linda Fritz, both of Port Clinton, and Ann and Lou Schwartz of Toledo. Paternal great grandparents Doris and Doug Arnold of Shalimar, FL, and Mary and Doug Barna of Titusville, FL. Uncles Andrew (Brittany) Fritz of Oak Harbor, Chris Richard of Dearborn, MI, and aunt Beth Arnold of Hilliard, OH. She is also survived by many great aunts and uncles and second cousins that she adored. Ava was preceded in death by her great grandmother, Jane Jones, and her great grandfather, B. Gale Fritz.
