The Danbury Senior Center has new, bright red signs thanks to the generous donations from the community. The new signs were made possible by memorial donations that were recently granted to the senior center. The Danbury Senior Center Board along with the membership of Danbury Senior Center felt it was best to utilize the money, rather than just deposit into their bank account. Jack Easton, Treasurer, upon the advice of the board, contacted Jeff Bumbera who is well known in our area for his signs and he agreed to make the signs.
The signs are a beautiful bright red, with each side being identical except for the cartoon figures, a different one painted on each side. The cartoon figures were selected to memorialize the two seniors whose memorials were donated to the senior center: Betty Boop is in memory of Betty "Boop" Briggs, a long time board member of the Danbury Senior Center and the other side depicts a skunk, in loving memory of Shirley "Stinky" Lynch, who had also served as president of the board. The Danbury Senior Center community is very pleased with the new signs.
