Ottawa County Beach Clean-Up

To celebrate Earth Day and help remove litter from our area beaches, the Ottawa Soil and Water Conservation District, Alliance for the Great Lakes, Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, Friends of Magee Marsh, East Harbor State Park, and Catawba Island State Park, are hosting a county-wide beach clean-up. 

All beach clean-ups will be held Saturday, April 19 at 9 a.m.  If you are interested in volunteering at one of the four local beach clean-up events, please call to register. Make a difference this Earth Day and volunteer to keep Lake Erie clean!

Toledo Symphony String Quartet to play at Edgewood Manor and the Vineyard

Thanks to a grant from the Ottawa County Community Foundation, the Toledo Symphony String Quartet will perform at two Port Clinton retirement communities on Wednesday, Feb. 12. 

Edgewood Manor Nursing Care Center, Fulton St., Port Clinton, will host the group at 1:30 p.m., with refreshments provided by Home Instead.  The Vineyard on Catawba, 3820 E. Vineyard Village Drive, will host the quartet at 3 p.m.  

Admission is free and family, friends and the public are invited to attend both of these concerts.  The concerts have been arranged by the Musical Arts Series at Firelands.

Thank you from Wreaths Across America

Dear Community, 

We would like to take this opportunity to thank so many of you for the success of Wreaths Across America. On Dec. 14th, Catawba Island Township Cemetery took part in a very special tradition of placing Christmas wreaths on the gravesites of veterans. The support, help and donations that were provided to us by this wonderful community were amazing. We truly are at a loss for words. The weather was cold, windy and snowy, but the ceremony was absolutely perfect.
