Oct. 1, 1926 — March 21, 2012
Betty Jane Rife, 85, of Northwood, Ohio and formerly of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died early Wednesday morning, March 21, in Bay Park Community Hospital, Oregon, Ohio.  
Visitation was Sunday, March 25, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. The funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 26, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 17877 W. Ohio 579, Martin (Blackberry), with interment to follow in Elliston Cemetery, Graytown.

Alma M. Guba, 87, of Sandusky, and formerly Port Clinton, died Friday, March 23, at Community at Parkvue, Sandusky.  
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton. Funeral services will be conducted by Chaplain Melvin Sayler at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, at the funeral home with interment to follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.

Babrara Sandefur, 76, of Port Clinton and formerly of El Cajon, Calif., passed away Friday, March 16, at the Riverview Heathcare Campus, Oak Harbor.
A Memorial service will be at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direct care of Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton.

Ralph L. Cook, 98, a longtime resident of Oak Harbor, died Sunday, March 18, at Otterbein-North Shore Retirement Assisted Living, Lakeside-Marblehead.  
Visitation will be private for the immediate family. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Chuck Kaylor at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor, with interment to follow in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.

Obituary — Claude Rowan

May 18, 1927 — March 14, 2012
Claude “Bill” Rowan, 84, of Port Clinton, died Wednesday, March 14, at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center in Port Clinton with his family by his side. He was born on May 18, 1927, in Detroit, the son of the late John Archibald and Agnes Lawrie (Newton) Rowan. Bill was a graduate of Baldwin Wallace College earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He worked for 41 years with Chevrolet, retiring in 1985 as the Plant Manager from their transmission plant in Muncie, Indiana. He was a member of The Chapel in Huron, Ohio. Bill was a Past Master of the A.H. Stevens Masonic Lodge in Rocky River. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was inducted into the Scottish Rite. As an avid sailor, Bill was a member of the yachtsman’s association at the Catawba Island Club. He also supported the Ottawa County 4H Equestrian group. While retired he worked as a substitute teacher at the Oak Harbor Middle School, teaching language arts and social studies. His hobbies included woodworking, especially making cherry cabinets, and working with stained glass.
