Margaret “Peggy” DeLeon, 71, of Port Clinton, passed away, Thursday, March 20, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, after a courageous struggle. She was surrounded by her loving family. Peggy was born on July 3, 1942 in Marblehead, the daughter of Morris Lee and Marjorie (Baker) Smith. On December 30, 2003 in Port Clinton, she married Erasmo DeLeon and he preceded her in death on January 20, 2013. She enjoyed bingo, camping and fishing. Peggy will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
Survivors include: Daughters: Tammy Robinson and Theresa (Edward) Spitler; Sons: Timothy (Jacqueline) Gonzalez and Thomas (Christy) Gonzalez; Step-Children: Eddie (Belia) DeLeon, Javier (Joyce) DeLeon and Melissa (Mark) French; many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews; Sister: Mary (Jose) Andeverde. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Dave & Lee Smith; sisters: Marjorie, Diane & Rosie.
Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m., Monday, March 24, in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 25 in the funeral home. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial donations in memory of Peggy may be given to Heartland Hospice or the Port Clinton Lion’s Club.
