Roger Elmer Eberly, 71, of Hudson, FL, died Sept. 16, after a battle with cancer. He was born on Sept. 6, 1942, in Port Clinton, the son of Elmer R.W. Eberly and Nellie O’Dell (Yankee) Cook.
Roger was a 1961 graduate of Port Clinton High School and was #77 on the football team. He spent most of his career working as an electrician for Dennison University. He joined the U.S. Army in 1961 and served until he was honorably discharged in 1965. Roger was also a member of the National Guard Red Horse Unit for 22 years.
Roger is survived by his wife Lydia (Little) Eberly and children: son Bryon R. Eberly and daughter Kristina Eberly, both of Newark; and daughter Michelle London (Patrick) Bolinger of Castalia; and six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two nephews and sister Tanya D. (Teddy A.) Kozlok of Port Clinton.
He was preceeded in death by both his parents, one sister, Judy E. Cover, and two nephews. Cremation was in Hudson, FL.
