Jonathan David "Jonny" Shank Dec. 18, 1991-June 27, 2014

Jonathan David "Jonny" Shank, 22, of Oak Harbor, died unexpectedly, Friday, June 27, at his home. He was born December 18, 1991, in Oregon, Ohio, to Lisa & Kim Smith and Mike Shank.  Jonny was a 2010 graduate of Oak Harbor High School and was an Automotive Tech for the Muffler Smiths, Port Clinton.  He had a passion for music, fashion, art, sports and junk food.

Jonny is survived by his parents, Lisa and Kim Smith, brother, Jacob Shank, sisters, Chastity Shank, Jessica Shank-Wachtell, and Abigail Okorowski,  nieces, Alexa, Nicole, nephews, Caleb Landen , grandparents, Dorothy Shank and James & Gertrude Shanks. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Forest "Pete" Shank and LaDonna & Jack Smith.

Alyce J. Child, 79, of Port Clinton, passed away as she slept Wednesday morning, June 18, 2014, at her residence on Catawba Island. She was born April 23, 1935, in Auburn, Indiana, to Calvin C. and Gladys E. (Whitta) Hawkins. 

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, OH, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association, 1711 N. Dorothy A. Bergeman Feb. 7, 1919-June 22, 2014

Dorothy A. Bergeman, 95, of Port Clinton, died Sunday, June 22, at the Commons of Providence, Sandusky.  She was born on February 7, 1919 in McCutchinsville, to Thurman and Marrietta (Swerlein) Sours.  On December 20, 1941, in Fremont, she married Denny C. Bergeman, and he preceded her in death on December 23, 2005.  Dorothy, along with her husband, owned and operated Bergeman’s Men’s Store, Port Clinton for 40 years before retiring in 1993.  She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, past president of the Altar Rosary Society, past president of the Toledo Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, member of the Lady Elks, Port Clinton, and life member of the Magruder Hospital Auxiliary where she volunteered for over 20 years.

Dorothy is survived by her sons: Dennis (Jeannine) Bergeman and James (Vickie) Bergeman both of Port Clinton, 3 grandchildren: Kara (Brad) McMonigal, Ryan (Bethany) Bergeman, and Tim (Margaret) Bergeman, 4 great grandchildren: Carson, Landon, Taylor, and Mallory, sisters: Helen Harris of Greensprings, and Patricia (Meryl) Hummel of Florida, brother: Donald (Phyllis) Sours of Green Springs, and brothers-in-law: Leon Boucher of Hilliard, and Vincent Hetrick of Fremont.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Robert, Edward, Richard, James, and Denny Sours, and sisters: Garnetta Hetrick, Virginia Boucher, and Matilda Hetrick.

Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH with prayers offered at 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral mass.  The funeral mass will be celebrated by Father John Missler at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton.  Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Port Clinton.  Memorial contributions in memory of Dorothy may be given to Immaculate Conception Church or School, Stein Hospice, or a charity of the donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at walkerfuneralhomes.com.

David C Sorg, 88, of Port Clinton, passed away Sunday, June 15, in the Stein Hospice Care Center.  He was born January 11, 1926 in Oak Harbor, the son of H.A. and Florence G. (Leaser) Sorg.

Mary Couture "Lea" Debien Jan. 21, 1927-June 15, 2014

Mary Agnes “Lea” Debien died on June 15, at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center after a lengthy battle with vascular dementia.  She was born on January 21, 1927, in Toledo, to Clarence and Ursula (Velliquette) Couture.  When she was born, her parents named her Lila Lu, but because Lila Lu was not a saint’s name, the baptizing priest changed her name to Mary Agnes.  Though as a child she was called Mary, she adopted the nickname Lea as a teenager, and she was called Lea throughout her adult life.  She married Raymond Debien, Jr., of Port Clinton on February 18, 1947, in Bono, Ohio.

She is survived by daughter Peggy and son Joe of Port Clinton, daughter Diane (Jerry) Bristow of Aurora, CO, daughter-in-law Suzanne (David) Debien of Houston TX;  grandchildren Jacqueline (Steve) Leamer of Queens, NY; James (Jeanne) Bristow of La Jolla, CA; Weston ( Janet) Bristow of Silver Spring, MD; Amy Bristow of Aurora, CO;  Megan (Matt) Houde of Fayetteville, NC; great grandson Bennett Leamer of Queens, NY; great granddaughter Braelynn Houde to be born in September; sister Geraldine (Karl) Christoph of San Diego, CA; and brothers Clarence of Kettering, OH; and Donald (Elaine) of Scottsdale, AZ.  She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her son, David.
