Ruth E. Finke, 96, of Port Clinton, passed away, Wednesday, July 23, at her residence. Ruth was born on April 29, 1918 in Port Clinton, the daughter of Edwin and Lura (Schlagel) Schrader. On November 2, 1942 in Georgia, she married Theron R. Finke and he preceded her in death on August 6, 1980.
Ruth was a dedicated homemaker. She worked as the house mother at the Providence School of Nursing, a cook at Bataan Elementary School and an LPN at Magruder Hospital. Ruth was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, and the women’s Pricilla Circle. She was a founding member of the Ottawa County Mothers of Twins Club. Ruth will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
Survivors include: Sons: Ronald (Sandra) Finke, Donald (Jean Page) Finke and Todd (Lindi) Finke; Daughter: Cynthia (Ben) Simpson; 7 Grandchildren and 19 Great-Grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Sunday, July 27, in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton. Funeral service will be conducted by Rev. James Lehman at 11 a.m., Monday, July 28, in St, John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, with visitation at church from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
