Artists’ Club offers day trip, watercolor class

The Port Clinton Artists’ Club is offering two upcoming opportunities for art growth and education.

He has a bachelor of fine art degree in sculpture from The Cleveland Institute of Art, a bachelor of art degree in art history from Case Western Reserve University and a master of fine art in sculpture from Syracuse University. Nestled around his Kelleys Island home are two studios, two galleries and a 10-acre sculpture garden. This trip will be on Saturday, June 16. The cost is $35 per person, which includes transportation to and from Kelleys Island. Contact Helen Arnold for information at 419-341-1980.

Kids head to summer camp on Kelleys Island

Did you realize you can go to camp on an island? You can! Each summer, youth from across the state travel to this camp which is located on Kelleys Island. Did you realize youth do NOT need to be 4-H members to attend 4-H camp? It’s true!
Organized camping is more than mosquito bites and soggy tennis shoes. Camp is an important “learning laboratory” where children develop life skills, such as responsibility, decision making, getting along with others, cooperation, leadership and increased self-esteem.

Steve Barton debuts Beachfront Visions at Wyland Gallery

Steve Barton will bring his vibrant new water’s-edge images to Put-in-Bay’s Wyland Gallery, 495 Catawba Ave., Thursday through Sunday, June 14-17. Barton will be on hand daily and by appointment to meet gallery visitors and share insights into his art and inspirations.
Barton is renowned for lighthearted canvases that capture the laid-back lifestyle embraced by islanders. His paintings depict secluded beaches, tiny waterfront cottages and colorful shoreline vistas.
Barton also applies his artistry to surfboards, adorning them with inviting sun-drenched scenes.
