Relay For Life starts Friday

This is the big weekend! The Ottawa County Relay for Life begins at 6 p.m. Friday, June 8 , and lasts until noon Saturday, June 9. So much is planned for those 18 exciting hours at the Oak Harbor High School Athletic Field.  
With a Disney-themed — “When You Wish Upon A Cure” — the planning committee created themed laps along with some traditional favorites for the 18 registered teams. All survivors are invited to the Dessert Reception in the Auxiliary gym from 4:30 to 4:45 p.m. T-shirts and goodie bags will be available here also.

Steven Quartly to showcase latest images at Put-in-Bay

Steven Quartly will showcase his latest images Friday through Monday, May 25-28, at Wyland Gallery at Put-in-Bay. Located at 495 Catawba Ave., the gallery opened for the season May 19.“Amalfi Vineyard” is one of Steven Quartly’s colorful interpretations of a scene from his European travels.
Quartly will be on hand daily and by appointment during his Memorial Day Weekend show to unveil colorful new seascapes, landscapes and street scenes alive with romance and emotion.
Many of his paintings were influenced by his travels in Europe, Hawaii and the Caribbean. Some of his most powerful canvases are painted from sketches made or photographs taken during his travels.
