Halupki’s Craft Fest takes place during Halupki Festival Aug. 17

Herman Halupki’s Craft Fest will take place on Sunday, August 17. The event, now in its fifth year, features over 30 vendors offering a variety of primarily hand-crafted items, including jewelry, glassware, prints, honey, metal yard art, candles, soaps, handbags, pottery, and more.

The Craft Fest is part of the famous Halupki Festival, the 58th annual celebration of Carpatho-Russian foods and music presented by Holy Assumption Orthodox Church, 114 East Main Street in Marblehead. The festival hours are 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m., and the Craft Fest will be open the entire time. Admission to the festival and craft fest is free of charge. 

As an additional attraction, Marblehead’s many unique shops and galleries will be open during the festival, and are within easy walking distance from the festival grounds.

Peach Social August 16

On August 16 from 4-6:30 p.m. St. Paul Lutheran Church will be hosting its annual Peach Social. The festival will be in the church fellowship hall, 541 S. Church Rd., Danbury Township, Marblehead.

The event features homemade chicken noodle soup, sandwiches, homemade pie, ice cream, sliced peaches, salads and beverages.

Marblehead Peninsula Lions Club Perch Festival on August 23

The Marblehead Peninsula Lions Club in conjunction with the Danbury High School Athletic Boosters will be holding their 22nd Annual Perch Festival on August 23, at James Park from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.  A parade will kick off the event at 10 a.m. The Firelands Physician Group will be sponsoring live music featuring the Third Degree Band.  Perch sandwiches and other local foods will be served.  Other attractions include:  craft vendors, flea market booths, car show, games, children's activities, and free Quarry tours will take place at 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, and 2:30 p.m.  The John Petz Magic Show which is scheduled at 12 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. and the St. Vincent's Life Flight landing at 2:30 p.m.  In addition, multiple raffle drawings as well as 50/50 raffles will be held all day with the grand prize drawing taking place at 4 p.m.

Fundraisers such as the Perch Fest enable us to provide for community members in need of eye examinations, glasses, reading assist machines, establishing a scholarship fund for a local graduating senior, and developing support and funding for many student programs.
