Oak Harbor High School celebrates Manufacturing Month

The State of Ohio has declared October as Manufacturing Month.  The goal of this state-wide initiative is to educate students on the career potential available in the manufacturing sector. 

One way that Oak Harbor High School plans to promote Manufacturing Month is by participating in the Ottawa County Career Showcase, sponsored by the Ottawa County Business Advisory Council, which will take place on October 24.  The purpose of the showcase is to expose students to the valuable and meaningful career opportunities available right here in Ottawa County.  During the showcase, the students will participate in a variety of engaging career experiences as they visit with individual exhibitors and employers.

Dueling Piano Fundraiser November 8

The BCS Music Boosters are hosting a Dueling Piano Fundraiser on Saturday, November 8, from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds. The doors for the event will be open at 6:30 p.m. The event features the Main Street Dueling Pianos. 

This fearless musical team performs an all-request show with a healthy dose of interactive comedy thrown in to entertain any audience.  Dinner and beverage will be provided at this 21 and over event offering 50/50 raffles and silent auction items.   Tickets are $25 per person or $45 for two.  Contact Lisa at 419-607-0073, Tina at 419-367-0368 or Traci at 419-680-4326.

Riverview trick or treat October 26

An Ottawa County Halloween tradition will celebrate its 14th year, Ottawa County Riverview Healthcare Campus (Nursing Home) will open its doors to the public for Riverview’s annual Trick or Treat Night, Sunday October 26, 6-7:30 p.m.

Little ghost and ghouls are invited to trick or treat at the door of over100 residents (children 12 and under please).  “This is a win a win for both Riverview and the community. It gives families a safe, well-lit, warm place to trick or treat, and our residents have a ball getting to see all the different costumes. It is something that they may have enjoyed in their own home and we are happy we are able to provide the experience right here in our building,” states Ottawa County Riverview Healthcare Campus Administrator, Kendra German.
