Duck Drop tickets available

The Ducks are back and ready to race for the American Cancer Society. The 3rd Annual Duck Drop will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, at 11 a.m. at Monsoon Lagoon.  A donation of $10 will get you a chance for prizes, including first prize of $700, second of $500 and third of $300 worth of local gift certificates.

With each purchase of Duck ticket, the purchaser will receive either a one day waterpark pass to Monsoon Lagoon or a round trip ferry ticket to Put In Bay on the Miller Boat Line.

Duck tickets are available at OurGuest Inn & Suites, 220 E. Perry Street, Port Clinton, or in Marblehead at Mutach’s Market on Northshore Boulevard. Last year the tickets were sold out, so it is recommended that you purchase tickets early. Checks can be made payable to the American Cancer Society. Community Chorus recruiting singers to perform for the Fourth of July

The All Star Community Chorus is looking for those who love to sing and love patriotic music, to sing and celebrate the Fourth of July.  Gregory Fox is directing the community chorus and Susan Larcey is accompanist.  There are four rehearsals, June 12, 19 and 26 , and July 3 from 7–9 p.m., in the sanctuary of Trinity United Methodist Church on the corner of Second Street and Adams Street, Port Clinton. 

The concert will be at 8 p.m. in Trinity United Methodist Church on July 4th, followed by the Independence Day fireworks display.  The repertoire will include the National Anthem, the Battle Hymn of the Republic and Oscar Peterson’s Hymn To Freedom.  The choir is open to all singers.  Call 419-734-1239 to register for the chorus, or sign in at the rehearsal on June 12th.

“Take Me Out to the Ball Game” with ICS Graduating Class

It was the perfect day for baseball on Monday, as the Immaculate Conception School fifth grade graduation class and their teacher Mrs. Jane Drusbacky spent the day at the Mud Hens game in Toledo. It was the 2013 Mud Hens School Celebration Day at the field. The Mud Hens came from behind to tie the game in the fifth inning to tie the Syracuse Chiefs, but couldn’t pull out a win in extra innings. Regardless, the fifth graders had a great time at the stadium as a class.  Many fun events are planned for the fifth graders as the school year winds down in celebration of their accomplishments and their time at ICS together. These students have all been together since their preschool days which make the coming weeks bitter sweet for all.
