‘Skins lose first game of the season

In a back-and-forth game that saw momentum change hands numerous times, Margaretta outscored Port Clinton by 11 points in the fourth quarter to defeat the Redskins 75-62 in Sandusky Bay Conference action last Thursday.

Behind great performances from Dylan Bailey and Austin Spicer, the Polar Bears (2-1, 1-0 SBC) outscored Port Clinton 22-11 in the final period to take control of the game after entering the final eight minutes with a two-point lead.

Redskins guard Nathan Stubblefield had 25 points to lead his club and Stefan Daniels and Drew Fodor chipped in with nine and seven points.

Redskins win fifth straight game

Behind a well-balanced scoring attack and a two dominant quarters, the Port Clinton Redskins won their fifth consecutive game with a 51-29 defeat of Perkins last Friday in Sandusky Bay Conference action.

Port Clinton, which improved to 5-1 and 3-0 in the SBC, jumped out to a 14-2 lead after the first quarter and outscored the Pirates 13-3 in the third quarter to account for the difference in their victory. The other two quarters showcased a battle to a 24-24 tie.

Port Clinton bowling team takes on Rossford

Rossford's Bulldog Bowlers traveled to Star Lanes at the Harbor in Port Clinton Friday and split matches with the Redskins. The Lady Redskins put a consistent match together in rolling over the Lady Bulldogs 2498-2185 on team games of 855-829 and added 814 in Baker, improving to 4-0 on the season, 3-0 in NOBC play.

"Our Girls were much more consistent" said Coach Bob Black. "Our lowest two game score was 313, very impressive. We still need to continue to improve our spare shooting and I believe we can shoot in the 2600's. I am pleased our team average is about 815."
