Port Clinton nurse runs for the children

Sarah Williams of Port Clinton has embarked on a personal fitness journey. Both her parents had health scares in their mid fifties, so she realized she needs to take control of her future and steer toward healthier choices. 

Williams has recently become a Licensed Practical Nurse and as an advocate for public health, she feels she must examine the image she portrays to patients, family and the community, as a role model of healthy lifestyle choices.

Oak House Grand Opening Sept. 19

The Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the grand opening of the Oak House located at 1819 E. State Road in Port Clinton.  The Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony celebrating their new location on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 1 p.m.

PC Seniors and PCVFD host Chili and Soup Cook-Off

Port Clinton Seniors and the Port Clinton Volunteer Fire Department have teamed up to host PC Seniors’ annual Chili & Soup Cook-off on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 3-5p.m. at the City Park Shelter House. Competitors must be 55+ years of age or an active member of the PCVFD; and may enter a standard-size crock pot (5 qts.) of chili, or soup or both. Entrants must be registered by Sept. 27; and must have their entry at the Park Shelter House by 2:30 p.m. on the day of competition. The event is open to the public; a $3 donation (ages 12+) will benefit the PC Seniors Special Projects Fund. Snacks, beverages, chili and soup tasting, door prizes, a 50/50 raffle and lots of friendly competition promise an afternoon of fun. Aprons will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place chili and soup winners with the coveted Best of Show Trophy awarded to the over-all winner of the competition.
