Rossford beats ‘Skins, girls’ streak ends at 15

The Rossford Bulldog Bowlers traveled to Star Lanes at the Harbor Friday and swept the host Redskins, with the Boys winning 2983-2720 and the Girls ending the Lady ‘Skins unbeaten season 2652-2555. 

“Our girls really bowled great, came within 20 pins of the school record” said Coach Bob Black. “Tonight we were outscored by a team that broke their school record by 300 pins. We had 4 scores 340 or better and the girls are getting better all the time and we have no seniors,” said Black. “We are looking forward to the events at the end of the season.” 

Kassidy Mahler led the Lady ‘Skins with games of 211-171. Eryn Binder rolled 187-175, Sam Stroupe 158-189, and Reilly Wittman 162-178. Caleb Conrad led the Redskin Boys with games of 234-198. Darryl Trent added 190-228, and Jacob Reed172-180.

Port Clinton’s Bowlers will join 42 other teams in competing in the Redskin Tournament at Star Lanes at the Harbor beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Service men and women pay respects to fallen comrade

Two North Central EMS workers look on from the Fulton Street bridge as the procession to bring Private James A. Dickman to rest passed through Port Clinton. Between Toledo and Sandusky, overpasses were filled with service trucks, police, fire and EMS workers paying respects to a fallen serviceman. The line of serviceman, mourners, family and friends were on their way to the Chapel in Sandusky where Private James A. Dickman’s funeral service will be held. The procession made one detour and that was to pass Dickman’s former fire house at the Perkins Fire Department.

PC Chamber announces Beach Party

The Port Clinton Area Chamber and Main Street Port Clinton are planning a Reverse Raffle Beach Party at Dock’s Beach House, Port Clinton, on Saturday, Sept. 20, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Tickets are $100, which includes a chance to win the $7500 grand prize and other cash prizes, along with a meal, other games of chance and prizes. Proceeds go to support a special downtown project. One additional meal can be purchased per ticket for $30. Only 300 tickets will be sold.
