The first ARTWalk of summer

LEAP (Lake Erie Adventure Playground) provided opportunities for budding artists.

On a perfect Thursday evening, the first ARTWalk of 2014 took place in historic downtown Port Clinton. Several of the exhibitors who had also participated in the first 2013 ARTWalk noted the marked contrast to last year’s cold, windy and rainy initial Walk. The increase in the number of shoppers reflected the pleasant weather.

Scheduled power outage

There will be a scheduled “power outage” in the Fulton Street area around the construction area today between the hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. We currently have no power to the traffic signal at Fulton and 3rd Streets and portable stop signs will be placed making this a 4-way stop until further notice.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game” says ICS Graduating Class

The Immaculate Conception School Fifth Graders enjoy their last weeks at ICS.  Pictured are, from right to left: Lilian Uhinck, Mitchell Coon, Garrett Hirt, Alyssa Diaz and Adrianna Hummel. 

It was not the perfect day for baseball last Wednesday as the weather didn’t fully cooperate, but that didn’t stop the ICS fifth grade graduation class and their teacher, Mrs. Jane Drusbacky, from having a great day at the Mud Hens game in Toledo. It was the 2014Mud Hens School Celebration Day at Fifth Third Field.  The Mud Hens lost to the Syracuse Chiefs. Regardless, the fifth graders had a great time at the stadium as a class. Many fun events are planned for the fifth graders as the school year winds down, in celebration of their accomplishments and their time at ICS. These students have all been together since their preschool days, making the coming weeks bittersweet for all.
