Lettuce decide: art or vandalism

Recently the statue at North Madison Street of the boy with the fish was changed forever when someone cut off the fish from the end of the boy’s line. Since then, a local business owners Mike and Lisa Davis of Custom Gates and Coating have decided to create and donate a new fish for the statue.

Wednesday morning, August 20, the boy was holding something other than a fish. What appears to be a clump of algae is now at the end of the boy’s line. Is it a statement about the recent algae crisis? One can only assume.

PC Mayor claims park initiative could force City to cancel community events

Port Clinton Mayor Vince Leone told those attending a meeting of the Friends of Port Clinton last Thursday that, should the ballot initiative pass in November, it would also shut down a number of community events, such as the Walleye Festival and Arts in the Park. 

After its formation last fall, Friends of Port Clinton held its first community action meeting of the year on Thursday, August 14, at the Commodore Perry Inn.

Lady Redskin tennis starts their season
