Little Free Library coming to Port Clinton

This spring Port Clinton will be getting a Little Free Library at Lakeview Park. Stephanie Kyle, the steward for the library, organized the project. The Free Little Library offers a way to share favorite books or books readers would recommend to others. The library is a little wooden box with a glass door where participants can take a book, leave a book.

“We want to promote literacy and community involvement,” said Kyle about the project.

Port Clinton Parks & Recreation Department will be putting up the library for Kyle. The library itself is already built; it is just waiting for placement. The location of the library will be at the north end of Lakeview Park by the pavilion where it will be easily accessible to everyone.

The library belongs to everyone and anyone can use it.

Take a book. If you see something you would like to read, take it. Look inside and see who gave it; who else has read it. Share it. Return it to any Little Library and pass it on to a friend. Give books. Leave notes in them. Be a friend of all libraries by helping any way you can. Pay it forward! – littlefreelibrary.org.

Water bills may be higher than expected

Due to the extenuating circumstances caused by the unusually harsh winter, the City of Port Clinton was forced to estimate most water meter readings since 11/23/13. Estimated readings were based off last year’s readings. Residents may receive a bill with higher than normal usage due to underestimated usage on December, January and February bills.

For any questions regarding water bills please contact the city hall office and speak with Julie at 419-734-5522 ext 236.
