Port Clinton Middle School Announces Teacher of the Trimester

The Teacher of the Trimester program was developed at Port Clinton Middle School to allow students the opportunity to offer positive feedback to teachers that have made an impact on their lives.  The second Teacher of the Trimester for the 2013-14 school year is Mr. Toby Hammond.

Comments from students nominating Mr. Hammond included:  He is a great teacher; He has great hair; He is funny; and He teaches us a lot that we need to know. 

Mr. Hammond received a certificate, a trophy (compliments of Student Council) and Gift Certificates to Marco’s Pizza courtesy of the Port Clinton Academic Boosters.  All teachers received copies of their Teacher of the Trimester nomination forms to read the positive feedback from their students.

Redskin hoopsters lead area AAU team to victory

Brothers Carter and Tytan Rumball helped the Ohio Ballistics AAU basketball team to a 5-0 record and tournament victory at the 21st Annual Cougar Classic in Columbus on March 23. The Ohio Ballistics is composed of players from area high schools including Fremont Ross, Fremont St. Joe, Gibsonburg, Bellevue, Port Clinton, and Tiffin Columbian.

Correction

My letter to the editor last week incorrectly stated that Council President Linda Hartlaub did not permit residents to ask questions at the March 6 meeting. Ms. Hartlaub did not preside over the meeting, as she was ill. President pro-tem and councilman Mike Snider presided over the meeting and did not allow residents to ask questions.
