PCHS announces Student of the Month

Port Clinton High School announced that the Student of the Month for March is senior Cameron King.

Cameron King is the son of Thad and Jennifer King. Cameron has been a member of the PCHS tennis team for the past two years. He participated in basketball, baseball and track and is a member of the PCHS National Honor Society. For the last four years he has participated in the PCHS marching band, concert band, and is a senior leader of the trumpet section. Next year Cameron will continue his education and plans to double major in History Education and Political Science.

ICS grows, with the help of the Ottawa Soil and Water Conservation District

Becky Simpson from the Ottawa Soil and Water Conservation District visited Immaculate Conception School in Port Clinton this week and gave the school a lesson on being good stewards to our earth. 

Ms. Simpson told the students the important role they can play in making our earth a healthy and beautiful place for all, just by conserving, recycling and not polluting. The students now have a better understanding of how Earth Day came to be and the progress we have made by respecting the planet. Each student received a pine tree sapling to plant at home. Ms. Simpson told the children that a single tree can provide enough oxygen for about four people. There are 20,000 species of trees in the world.  

Immaculate Conception School would like to thank the Ottawa SWCD for the beautiful trees and for the life lesson of caring and respecting our Earth.
