Learning with technology at ICS

Brik Barna and Martina Cass look at temperature changes through out the week using their Chrome Book.

This school year has brought many changes to the classrooms at ICS, including the addition of Chrome books. Chrome books allow the students access to a whole new world of interactive learning through educational apps and the internet.

ICS students participate in Young Authors Day

Fifth grader Mitchell Coon acts out a story with Tomah the Mime about his new car.

On Wednesday, Sept. 11, the students at Immaculate Conception School went on an adventure in writing with Tomah the Mime. This all day assembly presented by Mobile Ed. Productions taught students how to reach into their imaginations and sharpen their creative writing skills. Tomah started the day with a 1 hour assembly where he shared his short stories with the classes by both reading the stories and acting them through the art of mime. This not-so-silent mime taught the children to think about characters, situations, and solutions in their writing. He suggested they make their story endings unexpected and to think about the emotions of their characters.

ICS students participate in Historical Ceremony

On the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 10,  the children of Immaculate Conception School boarded ferry boats to Put-in-Bay bright and early with the intention to be a part of something much bigger than they could even imagine. These students, 2nd, 3rd, 4th,and 5th graders,  were about to be a part of a historical ceremony  and a day that they will remember for the rest of their lives- the Bicentennial Of the Battle of Lake Erie, Sept. 10, 2013.
