Redskin football players attend Nike SPARQ Combine

On Feb. 15, seven Port Clinton football players attended the Nike Football SPARQ Combine. The Nike SPARQ combine is where high school football players can test their athleticism and compare their scores with other high school players in the nation.

Lakers finish season with win over Hilltop

The Danbury Lakers completed their season with a much-needed victory over West Unity Hilltop on Friday, defeating the Cadets, 38-35 to finish the season with a 3-7 record.

After playing well for much of the season’s first four games and earning a 2-2 record, Danbury fell on hard times, losing five consecutive games before finishing off the year with a victory.

Oak Harbor defeats Margaretta to finish at 5-5

Margaretta fought ‘til the finish, but in the end Oak Harbor's size and physicality were too much as the Rockets defeated the Polar Bears, 35-14, on Friday night in Sandusky Bay Conference action at Rocket Stadium in Oak Harbor.

Oak Harbor established control from the beginning, scoring on the game's second play from scrimmage when running back Andrew Heberling scored from 71 yards out to make it 6-0 before Jourdan Maguire, who converted on all five of his PATs, kicked the extra point to give the Rockets a 7-0 advantage. On the touchdown, Heberling ran through a big hole on the right side before dashing to the right sideline and outrunning the Margaretta defenders for the score.
