| Deadlines set for boating grant programs |
| COLUMBUS — The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Watercraft will award more than $1.3 million in grant funding next year to local communities throughout the state. Eligible activities include boating education and enforcement programs and boating access facility improvements.

| 117-year-old I-LYA Bay Week regatta changes format
After 116 years of the Inter-Lake Yachting Association’s Bay Week Sail Regatta, the New Bay Week is changing. What used to be a week-long event is now just a weekend — this Thursday through Saturday at Put-in-Bay.

| ODNR office plans unveiled |
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Watercraft, will soon be on the moving its regional office from Sandusky into Ottawa County. Officials and watercraft officers were on hand Saturday at Catawba Island State Park showing residents there what they can expect. The plan is to tear down one of the current ODNR buildings at the park and replace it with a larger, more modern facility — all without distrupting ramp usage.

| Survey seeks public feedback on improving Lake Erie Coast |
| SANDUSKY — How can we make your Lake Erie experience better? This is the question four Ohio agencies that work together to improve Lake Erie are asking people who live, work and play along Ohio’s 312-mile coast, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. The Lake Erie Ohio Public Access/Visitation Survey seeks to gather data on perception and satisfaction levels with public access to Ohio’s portion of Lake Erie, visitation habits of Ohio residents and tourists, and activities that people like to participate in while visiting.

| Fish habitat benefits from funding to protect against effects of climate change |
| The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will provide $548,571 to support 13 fish habitat projects in eight Midwestern states under the National Fish Habitat Action Plan, according to Midwest Regional Director Tom Melius. An additional $640,923 in partner contributions will go toward restoring and enhancing stream, lake and coastal habitat, improving recreational fishing and helping endangered species, and supporting long-term protection against the effects of climate change.
