American Legion Post 555 Holds The Flag Day Ritual
The Marblehead Peninsula American Legion Post 555 held the annual June 14th Flag Day ritual in James Park with the ceremony beginning at 2:00 p.m.
American Legion Commander Don Kortan with members Dick Kracer, Ken Fick, Dave Glick, and Lloyd Dayton conducted the patriotic service. Chaplain Dick Kracer offered the closing prayer. VFW Post 7572 Commander Bob Peroni, past Commander Dan Monak, and Mary Ann Monak, of the Ladies Auxiliary were also in attendance. Bob Hartman was there to witness his flags as part of the ceremonial ritual.
Refreshments were served by Shirley Kortan.
We proudly acknowledge the members of American Legion Post 555 for their dedication to the proper disposing of worn and tattered flags; that have flown proudly high in the sky, sadly at half-staff, and in its special holder near to the ground, honoring those who lie beneath it.
