Fill the Boat with HOPE

The American Cancer Society is gearing up for its Celebration of Life, which will be held 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at Lakeview Park in Port Clinton. The planning committee is looking for teams to participate in the “birthday celebration.” Teams who attend the event usually have food and raffles for on-site fundraisers, and also offer activities and games for kids.
Before the event, teams also help fundraise, and one of the newest and most exciting fundraisers is the Fill the Boat with HOPE program. The goal is to fill a boat with “fish,” but more importantly to raise money for research and services that give people hope. Fish will be for sale through the various teams who are participating in the event, or individuals can come to Our Guest Inn & Suites on Perry Street and purchase a fish.
