Edgewood hosts third Continuing Education Seminar

Nearly 70 healthcare professionals gathered at Edgewood Manor on Feb. 3, for a continuing education seminar. Stein Hospice, Home Instead Senior Care and Heritage Health Care all co-sponsored the Suzanne Robinsonevent, attended mostly by nurses and social workers.
The program, titled “Beautiful Minds: Mental Health & Recovery,” was given by Suzanne Robinson, director of programs for NAMI Ohio. The speaker was sponsored by The Center for Mental Health and Well-Being at Memorial Hospital.
Suzanne has been affiliated with NAMI for many years and has a great deal of knowledge and experience with mental illness. She was able to relate personal experiences to her topic and captivated her audience. One of the attendees said,  “Suzanne was an amazing speaker who helped me listen. I discovered new resources and programs related to mental health and really enjoyed the personal stories that were used to make sense of complicated information!”
NAMI — National Alliance on Mental Illness — is an organization that offers many programs and services for those whose lives have been touched by mental illness. For information, visit www.nami.org NAMI has a national, state and local office.
The event was for three credits, lunch was provided and was offered at no cost to the attendees because of the partnering of sponsors. This is the third presentation for credits that has been offered, each time with increased attendance. The facility will continue to offer these programs. The next will be held in late spring/early summer.
