PORT CLINTON —African Safari Wildlife Park is open for the season. The 100-acre preserve has many different species of wildlife on exhibit — many of which are active and playful in the cold weather. Visitors are guaranteed to see elk at the Wildlife Park, along with deer, bison, zebra and much more. The spring schedule (through May 27) will include the drive-through which will feature the Northern Climate Animals such as elk, bison, deer, ankole, etc. The tropical animals such as giraffe, zebra, giant eland and other exotics have left for warmer climates but will be back in May. “It has been a wild winter at African Safari Wildlife Park,” said Director Everett Harris. Education programs for school field trips are filling up fast. The cost is $5 per person with a minimum of 10 people in a school group. The African Safari Wildlife Park will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Nov. 30 with the last car admitted at 4 p.m. Admission to the park is free for ages 3 and under; $8.95 for ages 4-6; $11.95 for adults; and $8.95 for seniors 55 and older. Groups of 10 or more are $9.95 per person. Family annual passes are available at the park or at www.AfricanSafariWildlifePark.com.
