| Riverview residents enjoy Valentine Tea |
Ottawa County Riverview Healthcare Campus was filled with loved for Valentine’s Day as residents, their families and staff enjoyed the Riverview Auxiliary annual Valentine Tea. Guest enjoyed homemade cookies made by Auxiliary members, finger sandwiches filled and punch.![]() To help set the mood, Felix Manaia filled the multipurpose room with his accordion playing and vocals. Guest enjoyed everything from Italian love songs to German polkas. A little of something for everyone, no matter what their style. “The Valentine Tea is something that residents and their families look forward to each year,” said Riverview activity director Lisa Barrett. “This year was probably one of the largest crowds in the history of the event. The entertainment this year, was a real attraction for our residents.” The Riverview Auxiliary is an area-wide organization devoted to the well being of the residents of Ottawa County Riverview Healthcare Campus (Nursing Home). The organization is always in need of active members, but also needs the support of general members.  The Auxiliary meets every other month, February, April, August, October and December at 9:30 a.m. the first Monday in Riverview's Multipurpose Room.  The meeting held in June is the first Monday at 7 p.m., to accommodate those members who may work during the daytime meetings. The Riverview Auxiliary provided Riverview Healthcare Campus approximately $20,000 in donations in 2009 alone. Cost to become amember is $5 per year or $50 for a lifetime membership.
