Thanks to friends and family To our many relatives and friends thank you for your support, thoughts and prayers at the sudden passing of Eugene (Bud) LaCumsky, my husband, our dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. We wish to acknowledge with deepest appreciation your many acts of kindness, words of comfort, messages of sympathy, floral arrangements and memorials that have been bestowed upon us during this most difficult time. Gratitude to St. Vincent Mercy hospital and chaplains. A special thank you to Pastor Chris for the wonderful service, so fitting for Bud. We continue to realize how much family and friends sharing our sorrow helps to lighten our burden and gives us strength to go on. Shirly LaCumsky Jim LaCumsky and family Debbie (Tim) White and family Tammie (Donnie) Boss and family Lori (Eddie) Urban and family Tornado response The western part of Ottawa County in Allen and Benton townships was devastated by EF3 tornado on June 5 resulting in massive amounts of destruction to property. Many residents were affected by this storm and fortunately in Ottawa County, because of quick response teams, there was no loss of life. As a result of the tornado destruction, there was a huge need for assistance from many agencies throughout Ottawa County and beyond. These agencies, governmental entities and volunteers responded as one to support those in their time of need. The board of Ottawa County Commissioners would like to extend its appreciation for all agencies and the gracious volunteers that gave of their time, resources and talents. Much has been accomplished. Through the assistance of many, those affected can begin to rebuild their property and more importantly, their lives. The Ottawa County Commissioners are very proud of our community in their response and compassion to their fellow citizens. Ottawa County Commissioners Mark Stahl, James Sass and Steven Arndt Tourist Town This is to answer Mr. Bob Walls letter in Sound Off Yes, Port Clinton is a Tourist Town and I am all for it. The city needs the money and if our visitors want to spend their money here, I say Thank You. We lost factories and the money went with them. If you know of some way to get them back, go for it. I hope in the future there will be something done at the water front to bring more visitors here. I love Port Clinton and I don’t want to see it go down hill. Arlene Irick Port Clinton
