The Battle of Lake Erie Bicentennial documentary, produced by Nick James Productions, will air next Thursday, Oct. 3, at 8 p.m. on WGTE PBS Toledo as part of the public television station’s “Toledo Stories” series.

The Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca Joint Solid Waste Management District will be sponsoring a television & small electronics recycling collection this weekend. This collection is for residents only. Equipment from businesses will not be accepted.
Shyia Havens demonstrates how to make a ham and cheese sandwich in Ms.Kerry Fial’s Fleet 6 Language Arts Class at Port Clinton Middle School. The students are studying transitions and presented “Teach Me” demonstrations explaining how to do a task. Presentations ranged from making brownies, sandwiches, and bead bracelets, to creating an origami frog.

On Sept. 28, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office will come together with other law enforcement agencies to conduct a sobriety checkpoint. The hours of operation will be from 11 p.m. until 1 a.m., followed by an hour of saturation patrol of the area. If you plan on consuming alcoholic beverages that night, please make plans to have a designated driver or taxi.
