The Ohio Rifle and Pistol Association is sponsoring, with the support of the Civilian Marksmanship Program, the CMP Highpower Marksmanship Clinic held June 14. The clinic introduces junior and adult new shooters to the sport of high power rifle shooting. It is an opportunity for civilians to develop a degree of proficiency with the service rifle. All participants must be members of the Ohio Rifle and Pistol Association or members of their home state NRA Association.
Subjects being covered at the clinic include safety, purposes of competition rules, duties and responsibilities of competitors, NRA classification system, equipment, range control and commands, marking and scoring targets, aiming, trigger control, positions, sight adjustment, rapid fire, zeroing, use of score book and scope and effects of weather. Ammunition and rifles are supplied by the Civilian Marksmanship Program. Do not bring your own rifles or ammunition.
The clinic runs from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, June 14. Certifications of completion will be awarded to all attendees after completion of firing and pit duty. All shooters will be required to complete pit duty. Entry fees are as follows:
Junior- $45 clinic only, $53 includes ORPA one year membership
Adult- $55 clinic only, $80 includes ORPA one year membership
