GSE Jewelers has new owner

Jewelers to Emily Baumert, who is assuming ownership of the local jewelry store in the Knoll Crest Plaza. Roger and Linda have been a retail fixture in the shopping center for over 20 years. They are confident the traditions they
established will be carried on by Emily and her staff.


ICC lunch bunch

Students at Immaculate Conception Catholic School know that winter will come soon enough, but for now they will take in the beauty fall has to offer.  The children enjoyed a picnic on the playground during their lunch period last week.

Last chance to order fish

Pond owners still have an opportunity to stock their ponds with fish through a convenient and low-cost program until Friday, Sept. 28.  The fish are supplied by Fender’s Fish Hatchery, Baltic, Ohio.  Their tank truck, with aerator, will distribute the ordered fish on Thursday, Oct. 6, in the afternoon.   Fish available are bluegill, channel catfish, fathead minnows, largemouth bass, redear sunfish and white amur.


Heartland Tour

Volunteers gathered near the Obama campaign’s Heartland Tour bus at the Obama-Biden office at 131A Maple Street, Port Clinton. Ottawa County Commissioner Jim Sass and Rural Vote Director for Organizing for America Mike McCandlish shared their vision and enthusiasm for getting out the vote to re-elect President Obama.
