Free skin cancer screening at Magruder Hospital

Magruder Hospital will hold a free skin cancer screening by appointment on Friday, Sept. 27, starting at noon.  The screening will be held in the 1 South Oncology area and appointments can be made by calling 419-734-3131 ext. 3505 and leaving your name and phone number.  Michelle Bodie, PA-C, from Dermatology Partners, will be providing the screening.

Art Club sponsors day trip

Port Clinton Artists’ Club “Reflections of America” museum tour will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 18. The Butler Institute of American Art, located in Youngstown, is the first museum of American art. The original structure, dedicated in 1919, is an architectural masterpiece listed on the National Register of Historic places. The museum's mission is to preserve and collect works of art in all media created by citizens of our country. The Institute's holdings now exceed 20,000 individual works, and the Butler is known worldwide as "America's Museum." The Butler permanent collection includes works from four centuries, and is assembled in galleries in chronological order according to the history of America. The collection mirrors the dynamic changes the nation has experienced in the four centuries of our country’s history.

Museum open extended hours

Tidying the exterior of the Ottawa County Museum in preparation for the Tall Ships Weekend.

The Ottawa County Museum, 126 W. Third St. in Port Clinton, will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the Labor Day weekend, Aug. 30 through Sept. 2.
