Outlook: In Del Culver's first season as the Port Clinton head softball coach, he worked to change the culture within the program, one that has struggled for a number of years.

Last season the Redskins went 8-18 overall and 4-8 in the Sandusky Bay Conference, and this year Culver is hoping for his club to make continued improvement.

Outlook: Thus far, the Port Clinton baseball team has struggled.

After coming into the season with high expectations, the Redskins have struggled to a 1-6 start, something they hope is more an aberration than anything else.

Outlook: After going 8-18 last season, a year that saw them start 1-10, the Oak Harbor softball team has started off the 2013 campaign with a 7-0 record.

The combination of good pitching from Sam Durivage, timely hitting and good defense has helped propel the Rockets to their great start, one that has come exclusively against non-conference opponents.

Outlook: The last two years have been pretty special for Oak Harbor.

Last season, the Rockets won their first Sandusky Bay Conference title in 20 years and the year before that they went on an incredible run that saw win five tournament games to advance to the Division II Regional Final.

Unfortunately, most of the key players from last year's squad are gone, meaning Oak Harbor has lost the vast majority of its production. Having to replace the likes of Brian and Joey Mallernee, Phil Bryant, Cory Grotz and Payson Galway will be no easy task, but the Rockets don't have a choice. It should be noted that senior Kaleb Maguire, who would've played a key role on this year's team, will miss the season because of a torn Achilles' tendon injury he suffered during football season.
