Laker Athletic Boosters reverse raffle

The Danbury Laker Athletic Boosters will hold their 21st annual reverse raffle on Saturday, August 2, at St. Mary Social Hall in Marblehead. Grand prize for the night will be $10,000 cash along with other prizes being awarded throughout the night. Tickets are $120 which includes the raffle as well as a delicious prime rib and honey glazed chicken dinner. Additional dinner tickets may be purchased for $20.

This event always sells out, so those interested in attending are urged to get their tickets early. Danbury girls on winning streak

Danbury 52, Lakota 23

The Lakers won their second straight game to improve to 4-5 overall, defeating Lakota, 52-23, in non-conference action last week. Danbury led 16-3 after one quarter and 34-9 at halftime in a game it controlled throughout.

Erin Lavelle led all scorers with 17 points, followed by Megan Stephens (10) and Alyssa Almendinger (7).

Danbury 47, Northwood 23

Danbury's defense carried it to victory, holding Northwood to six first-half points in the Lakers' 47-23 win over the Rangers in Toledo Area Athletic Conference action last weekend.

Danbury led 11-2 after the first quarter and 36-6 at halftime before cruising to victory. Stephanie Kukay led the Lakers with 10 points, followed by Cassidy Rhodes (8) and Erin Lavelle (7).

Danbury outscored by Cardinal Stritch

Cardinal Stritch 55, Danbury 22

After hanging in there for much of the first half, Danbury fell behind after being outscored by 15 points in the third quarter in their 55-22 loss to Cardinal Stritch on Friday.

Junior guard Austin Adams led the Cardinals with 27 points and helped his club go from having a 24-13 lead at halftime to being up 41-15 after three quarters as Stritch outscored the Lakers, 17-2, in the third quarter.

Keegan Rhodes led the Lakers (1-9) with eight points and Caleb Gerber chipped in with four.
