Rocket girls improve to 15-4

Behind a career-high 17 points from Maddy Rathbun, the Oak Harbor Rockets defeated Eastwood, 60-30, in non-conference action on Monday.

Oak Harbor took control in the first quarter, grabbing a 15-7 lead, but the Eagles kept it close until halftime, trailing 29-19 at the break.

However, the Rockets (15-4) broke the game open by outscoring Eastwood, 13-2, in the third period to push the advantage to 42-21.

In addition to Rathbun’s 17 points, Andrea Cecil had 14 and Allie Kuhn finished with seven.

The Eagles were led by Mackenzie Albright, who had seven points. 

Oak Harbor 46, Perkins 32

The Rockets slowly built their lead before pulling away in their 46-32 victory over Perkins.

Oak Harbor held a 17-12 lead at halftime but pushed the advantage to 31-21 after three quarters and outscored the Pirates, 15-11, in the final period.

Maddy Rathbun led the Rockets with 16 points and Andrea Cecil and Emma Barney scored 11 and 10, respectively. 

Oak Harbor is currently 10-3 in the Sandusky Bay Conference. 

The Rockets host Margaretta on Senior Night on Thursday, and begin tournament play on Feb. 22 at 6:15 p.m. at Port Clinton High School in the Division III Sectional Final. Oak Harbor faces the winner of the matchup between No. 5 Margaretta and No. 6 Gibsonburg.
