PC boys defeat Mohawk, 73-33

Port Clinton controlled this one throughout as they led by 18 points on their way to a 73-33 victory over Mohawk in non-conference action.

The Redskins led 17-4 after one quarter and 30-12 at halftime before outscoring the Warriors, 43-21, in the second half. 

Carter Rumball led all scorers with 19 points, Nathan Stubblefield scored 12 and Tytan Rumball chipped in with 10. 

Hunter Fitschen led Mohawk with 14 points. 

Huron 65, Port Clinton 48

Huron pulled away behind a strong second quarter in their 65-48 victory over Port Clinton in Sandusky Bay Conference action.

Holding an 18-15 lead after one quarter, the Tigers outscored the Redskins, 15-5, in the second quarter to take a 33-20 lead into the half.

Port Clinton (6-11, 2-10 SBC) hung tough in the second half, though, losing the final two quarters by just four points, 32-28.

Huron’s Gabe Camella led all scorers with 14 points and Jack Springer chipped in with 11. The ‘Skins got nine points apiece from Nathan Stubblefield and Dylan Webb and Carter Rumball finished with eight.

Port Clinton travels on the road this week to face Clyde on Friday and Fostoria on Saturday. In the tournament drawings, the ‘Skins were matched up with Oak Harbor. The two will face each other in the Division II Sectional Semifinal on Feb. 25 at 6:15 p.m. at Willard High School. The winner faces Clyde, the No. 2 seed, at 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 28, also at Willard High School.
