Port Clinton bowlers played host to Woodmore at Star Lanes at the Harbor Friday, Jan. 17, and emerged victorious in both matches.
The Lady Redskins, led by Alysia Zoeller’s 175-187, improved to 12-0 with a 2442-1996 win over Woodmore. Kassidy Mahler rolled games of 168-161, Reilly Wittman 156-171, Eryn Binder 139-172, and Sam Stroupe 166-145. Courtney Burner rolled 172-163 for the Wildcat Ladies and Emily Paul rolled 169-148.
“Our girls rebounded from a subpar performance yesterday with one of their better efforts today,” said Coach Black. “All the girls were pretty solid hitting the pocket and making spares. They rolled two 800 games and had 802 in Baker. That’s good bowling and after this tough last seven days they can rest.”
The Redskin boys also bounced back with a fine 2919 series over Woodmore’s 2579. Freshman Cameron Bice led the Redskins with 254-224, Darryl Trent 221-203, Dave Wilburn 169-244, Caleb Conrad 218-190, and Jacob Reed 200-176. Tyler Crump rolled 223-178 for Woodmore, Nate Jackson 161-220, Austin Willis 202-138, and Jay Conner 168-170.
“We almost had all five boys over 400 series which is great. Four of their last five matches have been what we expect from them. If they keep striking and making spares they can make a good tournament run,” said Coach Black.
