Redskins defeat Danbury and Woodmore in volleyball

The Lady Redskins hosted Danbury and Woodmore in volleyball this weekend. 

The Varsity team finished the day with two wins over Danbury and Woodmore. The Redskins took Woodmore to three, winning two sets 25-11, 25-12 and losing one 23-25. Marissa Day led the ‘Skins with 9 kills and 7 digs while Sydney Alexander chipped in 6 kills. Setter Hannah Sarty finished with 25 assists. Against Danbury the Redskins went three sets, 26-24, 21-25, 25-18. Middle hitter/blocked Taylor Zink finished with 4 solo blocks and Marissa Day finished with 12 kills. The Lady Redskins have won three of their last four games.

The JV also posted wins over both Danbury and Woodmore. They handled Danbury 25-8 and 25-12 while beating Woodmore 25-22 and 25-23. Against Danbury Chloe Cook, Ciara Bozman, and Ebony Kleinhans earned points off of the serve. Abbey Weldon and Abigail Wuersig were tough on defense and Tarrynn Edgefield and Ebony Kleinhans were strong in the front row. Against Woodmore Ciara Bozman, Asha Guerra, and Abbey Weldon had great defense. Ciara Bozman and Abigail Wuersig served well. Chloe Cook did an excellent job of running the PC offense. 

Port Clinton is back in action Tuesday at home vs. Maragretta.
