Oak Harbor girls fall to Perkins

    Perkins 51, Oak Harbor 44

    The Pirates raced out to a 15-4 lead after one quarter and led throughout in their 51-44 victory over Oak Harbor.
    The Rockets outscored Perkins, 27-20, in the middle two quarters to cut the deficit to four heading into the final period, but the Pirates held on, winning the fourth quarter, 16-13, to claim victory.
    Shannon Ebert and Kayla Yost led Perkins with 14 points apiece. Makayla Carpenter led all scorers with 16 points and Abbie Gezo and Maria Boers finished with 12 points apiece.

    Oak Harbor 46, Genoa 36

    With the score tied at 30, Oak Harbor forward Andrea Cecil drilled a 16-foot jumper from the right wing to give the Rockets the lead for good before they held on for a 46-36 win over Genoa in non-conference action.
    With the score tied at 28 early in the final period, Cecil scored nine of Oak Harbor's 10 points during a 10-4 run that saw the Rockets break a 28-28 tie and grab a 38-32 advantage before holding for the victory.
    Forward Abbie Gezo chipped in with 11 points and Makayla Carpenter finished with 10 while holding Genoa guard Ciara Albright to just eight points.
    Haley Pickard led the Comets (7-9) with 10 points.
    Oak Harbor hosts Tiffin Columbian, travels to Margaretta and hosts Eastwood this week.
