After losing three straight games, the Port Clinton boys basketball team was able to right the ship, at least temporarily, in their 66-59 victory over St. Mary CC.
Holding a 36-21 lead over the Panthers, the Redskins nearly let the lead slip away as SMCC cut the deficit to 60-56 before holding on for the win.
Freshman Nathan Stubblefield led the way with 29 points and seven rebounds and Brock Moore and Ian Kyle finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
SMCC got 23 points from playmaker Denarius Harris.
With the win, the 'Skins improve to 3-11 overall and 3-7 in the SBC. The Panthers, meanwhile, fall to 9-7 and 4-6 in the league.
Port Clinton returns to action this weekend as they face two of the best teams in the area. On Friday, the 'Skins host Perkins (12-3, 9-1 SBC) and, on Saturday, Port Clinton welcomes Norwalk (16-0).
