A response to this Sound Off.

Although it's against my better judgement to respond to this in a public forum I would like to take this opportunity to present my point of view.

Most certainly my intentions are never, ever to hurt anyone's feelings. My intentions are to expose the hypocrisy of homophobia, racism, misogyny and other human ailments through humor and song. To point out, make fun of, and celebrate our differences. To laugh at each other and ourselves and to show that we can all have fun together. Most people get it...sadly, there are some who don't.

This is a very important message to all of you who helped in any way during our illness and recovery. Your prayers, cards, visits, etc., just shows again how much you care and it is just great to be from this area.

As I conclude my work as your state representative, I find myself filled with a profound sense of gratitude. This is my last communication to you as your state representative, or at least for the time being. Holding public office has been a joy and a sacred privilege. Let me explain.

The Ottawa County Department of Job and Family Services would like to thank all of the community members who have worked and contributed to meet the needs of the less fortunate this holiday season.
There are often times when we see needs that government programs are not designed to meet, especially at the holidays. Your efforts exemplify the caring and giving community in which we live.

After spending the Thanksgiving holiday at home with family, I went to Mr. Ed’s Bar and Grill to watch the Ohio State/Michigan game with fellow Port Clinton High School alumni. We had a great time and were happy to see that Ed Fitzgerald, the owner of the bar, was there and hosting a charity event to raise money for Port Clinton families who are struggling. However, after enjoying the game and donating to the fundraiser, I was disgusted by the evening entertainment that followed.
