Streeter

It is hard to believe that it has been over a month since my mother, Mary Alice Streeter, passed away.  She, like my father, Clarence Streeter, loved this town of Port Clinton.  They were both raised here as children and felt this was a wonderful town in which to live and raise a family.  Dad even said to me one time while we were walking near the lake, “I think Port Clinton is God’s country, why would anyone want to live anywhere else?”  To which I responded, “I agree with you, Dad.”

Thank you to Magruder Hospital and staff

Unfortunately I ran into some physical problems recently, necessitating a  week’s stay in Magruder Hospital.  Fortunately, I can say that I had the absolute best of care.  Starting with the PC EMS, to the Emergency room personnel, on to the Radiology and Cardiology Departments everyone was competent and professional.  The Nursing staff,-especially nurse Robin,  those in Occupational and Physical Therapy explained what they were doing so there were no surprises.  My room was cleaned by a competent housekeeping staff daily.

Thanks from the Salvation Army

The success of Ottawa County is NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING.  I say this each and every year that I have been the Director for The Salvation Army.  Each year our Red Kettle Goal is given to us by The Northwest Ohio Salvation Army in Toledo.  This year, our goal was raised to $62,000.00 and while we were up against obstacles, such as not being able to ring as many days as we had in the past, we were still able to surpass our goal by raising $62,603.90!!

Thank you for the random act of kindness

We would like to say “thank you” and send a big hub to the young couple that paid our dinner check at Casa Las Palmas on Wednesday, Jan. 9.
We were totally unaware of their actions until we asked for our bill and the waitress said that it had been taken care of! We were truly at a loss for words.
