The Lakeside Volunteer Fire Department has been in existence since 1905 serving the residents of Lakeside/Marblehead and Danbury Township.
Throughout the years the Department has received great community support from the residents and the business community.
This year has been no exception. In spite of the economy, on Labor Day the Fire Department served nearly 500 meals at its annual spaghetti dinner. Support and attendance by the residents again made the dinner a huge success.
This year, the Kroger Company contributed nearly all of the food and paper products. Special thanks to Alan Faust from the corporate office in Cincinnati and Robert Sears, manager of the local Port Clinton Kroger who coordinated the necessary details with John Starcher. Starcher has directed the annual dinner for several years.
The Lakeside Volunteer Fire Department sincerely appreciates the generosity of the Kroger Company, who shared their resources of time and talents in making the spaghetti dinner a huge success.
All funds and revenues go toward providing quality fire and emergency service protection, to purchase equipment for fire and EMS services.
Lakeside Volunteer Fire Department is most appreciative of local Boy Scout Troop #331 who helped serve and clean up for this event.
Again, thank you to Kroger, Boy Scout Troop #331, the volunteers and the residents who supported this annual fund raising endeavor.
