Terra State’s Spring Semester Dean’s List

Two Terra State students named Academic All-Ohio

Josh Thacker and Shawn Boller

Two Terra State Community College students were honored by the Ohio Association of Community Colleges at a luncheon in the Ohio Statehouse Atrium in Columbus in April.

Shawn Boller, of Mount Gilead, was named to the Academic All-Ohio first team and received a $1,000 scholarship while Josh Thacker, of Tiffin, was tabbed for the third team and received a $250 scholarship.

A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Boller graduated earlier this month with an Associate of Applied Science in Welding. He searched for colleges in Ohio that offered a degree in welding and, although it meant a daily commute of three hours round trip, he chose Terra State for its outstanding welding degree program. During that time, he also worked the night shift at Marion Correctional Institution.
