Safety Town graduates 25

The Port Clinton Fire House hosted Safety Town Tuesday, June 24, through Friday, June 27. Safety Town is a program where children that are entering kindergarten get a chance to learn about safety from the emergency service workers themselves.

Surgical Technologist Graduation

Graduates include:  Amanda Wiparina (Bucyrus), Liane Hersh (Norwalk), Tia England (Bellevue), Brittany Adkins (Port Clinton) and Julie Baker (Wakeman).  All five students passed their certification exam and are now Certified Surgical Technologists.

PCHS Class of 2014 graduates

On Saturday, June 7, at 10:30 a.m. Port Clinton High School held its 130th commencement ceremony. One hundred and thirty four students received their diplomas at True-Lay Stadium. Elise Zeitzheim gave a welcome speech to the graduates and attendees. At the end of the welcome, overcome with emotion, Zeitzheim read a quote from the Broadway musical Wicked, “Who can say if I’ve been changed for the better, but because I knew all of you, I have been changed for good.”

During the Superintendent’s Address, Pat Adkins told the students “getting to know each other can enrich our own lives and the lives of others.” Adkins also told personal stories about a few students that received laughs from the crowd.
