Lifelong Learning at Terra State offers Saturdays are for Kids

Saturdays are for Kids is an exciting hands-on series offered this fall by Lifelong Learning at Terra State Community College.

The classes are geared toward students in grades 1 through 6 who love to try new things.

Students can register for each class individually but will receive a 20 percent discount for enrolling in three or more. Class sizes are limited to eight.

All supplies/materials are included in the $29 fee for each class.

The schedule is:

• Sun Catchers and Colors – Using materials safe for little ones, students will learn about color basics, how to mix their own colors from the primary colors, and then design their own work of art. Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to noon.

• Octoberfest-Kids Style – In this ghastly class, kids will have a ghoulish time making all types of scary (and not so scary) goodies. Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to noon.

• Turkey Piñata – Learn about the history of the piñata and then make your very own for your Thanksgiving Day celebration. Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon.

• Holiday Cookie Party – In this tasty class, you will not only get to help make and decorate a variety of cookies, you can eat them, too. Dec. 20 from 10 a.m. to noon.
