State Representatives voted to appropriate over $214,000 in state funds for the renovation of Heritage Hall at Owens State Community College.
The money, including $22,000 in local funding, will go to the development of some 32,000 sq. ft. for additional mixed-use classroom space, completing the final phase of the Heritage Hall Renovation project.
“This is a high priority for the college, and I am pleased that they are able to move forward with the completion of needed updates to Heritage Hall,” said Rep. Chris Redfern (D-Catawba Island). “Owens will be better positioned to meet the needs of faculty and our region’s students.”
The SSOE Group of Toledo will provide engineering services for the renovations and manage construction on the project.
The State Controlling Board also approved the college’s request to transfer approximately $56,000 from the High Bay renovation fund to the Heritage Hall project to ensure its timely completion.
Rep. Redfern serves as one of seven members on the State Controlling Board, a panel tasked with oversight of state spending.
